We are now seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Owner to join our team, focusing specifically on the Securities Brokerage area. This pivotal role will be tactically responsible for Nordnet’s core securities trading functionalities, features, and workflows (e.g., buy/sell securities, view positions & transactions, instruments and much more) on Nordnet’s Web & App platform.
The Product department consists of the Chief Product Officer, Director of Product, Area Product Owners, and Product Owners within the different domains.
This is part of the role
As a Product Owner at Nordnet, you lead the evolution of our savings and investment experience across Web and App, with a dedicated focus on the Securities Brokerage area. You translate complex market mechanics into scalable technical solutions, ensuring Nordnet remains the leading platform for savings and investments in the Nordics. Navigating the intersection of finance, technology, and business strategy, you drive high-impact transformation and technical excellence in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
On a daily basis, you work as a technical peer to our engineering teams and alongside business stakeholders to solve complex problems and drive the discovery and delivery of new products. You take full ownership of the product roadmap, defining requirements while ensuring the team is updated with essential information and focus to maintain high execution momentum
Key responsibilities:
Product innovation: Drive the evolution of our investment and savings experience to deliver a modern, intuitive platform for both long-term savers and active investors.
Roadmap ownership: Lead the team roadmap by defining feature scope and prioritizing deliverables in collaboration with business owners and stakeholders.
Stakeholder communication: Maintain transparent communication with stakeholders regarding roadmap progress, changes, and potential blockers.
Risk & compliance: Proactively identify and mitigate product risks while ensuring all features meet stringent regulatory and legal standards.
Engineering leadership: Guide development teams through complex technical problem-solving to deliver impactful products and a high-performance user experience.
This is you
You possess a deep understanding of and a genuine interest in savings and investment, where your domain expertise in securities trading and market mechanics is essential. As a disciplined leader with a "low-ego, high-impact" approach to product ownership, you thrive in high-stakes environments, remaining calm, structured, and decisive when navigating complex and fast-paced situations.
Your background includes professional experience in digital product development within the financial services sector, complemented by technical or analytical skills that allow you to dive into complexities alongside engineering teams. You are a driven and creative professional, holding a university degree in a relevant field, who demonstrates the excellent teamwork and communication skills necessary to lead the evolution of our platform. You have a high level of personal initiative and integrity, with a natural inclination toward leadership and ownership.
You have:
Academic foundation: A university degree in Finance, Economics, or Engineering
Proven product leadership: At least 3 years of Product Owner or Product Manager experience in a tech-driven or fintech environment.
Agile expertise: Experience leading agile development teams, including the management of backlogs, sprints, and iterative releases.
Domain knowledge: A solid understanding of securities trading, market mechanics, and the data tools required by active savers and investors.
Customer-centric track record: Proven ability to translate user needs into successful features while maintaining a sharp focus on the end-user experience.
