About the role

Nordnet is rebuilding the bank on Google Cloud Platform. Not lift-and-shift. Not partial migration. A full architectural transformation.

The Cloud Platform team builds and operates the mission-critical foundation that all product teams rely on: robust infrastructure, golden paths, Terraform modules, developer experience, reliability guardrails, and cloud best practices.

We’re looking for engineers with strong development backgrounds (Java or Golang preferred) who have transitioned into cloud engineering and want to work at the platform layer, building scalable infrastructure that enables hundreds of engineers to move fast, safely.

This role combines software engineering discipline with infrastructure depth. If you enjoy turning complexity into reusable patterns and building platforms that scale people, this job is for you.

What will you do

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with product and platform teams to:

• Design and evolve Nordnet’s cloud platform on GCP.

• Develop and maintain Terraform modules and opinionated “golden paths.”

• Create secure and scalable patterns for CloudSQL, networking, IAM, Kubernetes, observability, and more.

• Improve the developer experience around infrastructure provisioning.

• Strengthen reliability, automation, and operational maturity.

• Contribute to standards and support teams in adopting them.

You won’t be working in isolation; much of the work involves discussion, refinement, and shared ownership.

As a cloud Engineer at Nordnet, you:

• Are an experienced engineer (typically 5+ years in software development).

• Have built production systems in Java or Golang.

• Have experience working with cloud infrastructure in one of the major providers (GCP, AWS, or Azure).

• Understand distributed systems and how they behave under failure.

• Care about automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.

• Communicate clearly and enjoy working with others to find pragmatic solutions.

• Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.

• Kubernetes in production.

• IAM and cloud security design.

• Networking in cloud environments.

• Observability (metrics, logging, alerting).
